How rising airport fees are affecting business travellers

A new report by the Business Travel Association* highlights these rising airport fees and is encouraging the Government to launch a review to ‘Drop The Drop Off Fees’.
What does the report say?
The report highlights the continued rise in airport fees, with prices to simply drop off and pick up at UK airports increasing. For example, ‘it costs £17 to drop off and pick up a passenger at London Stansted Airport’.
This means that Business Travellers are hit with the additional costs – that they are perhaps not expecting when initially working out the total cost of their trip – by either paying these fees themselves or paying increased taxi fees that are including these within their fares.
The alternative is to pay for parking at the airport. However, as one traveller is quoted within the report, it would cost them over £200 to park their car for the week.
